Immigration Chief Gift Constituency 013 Brand New Ambulance
The former two-term Member of Parliament for Constituency 013 in the Kenema District, Hon. Alusine Kanneh, who is the current Chief Immigration Officer, has donated a brand new sophisticated Ambulance to the people in Constituency 013.
According to Hon. Alusine Kanneh, the donation is in memory of his late mother, Madam Mariama Feika of Gegbwema in the Tunkia Chiefdom, Kenema district.
Hon. Alusine Kanneh recalled that, his late mother died some thirty-three years ago because she could not get to a health facility in time as a result of the lack of a reliable means of transportation. "I don't want anybody in my constituency and for that matter in any other community to die because of a reliable means of transportation to access the nearest health facility", Hon. Alusine Kanneh said.
Funds for the purchase of this sophisticated ambulance were withdrawn from Hon. Alusine Kanneh's salary account saved since 2018 for this particular purpose.
Nurses and health workers in Constituency 013 hailed Hon. Alusine Kanneh's singlehanded decision to donate the much-needed ambulance to them and other vulnerable surrounding communities.
The District Medical Officer in Kenema said he has never witnessed such an occasion in the district since his posting to Kenema district.
Many people have commended Hon. Alusine Kanneh for his decision to donate an ambulance to the people of his former constituency.
Recently, Hon. Alusine Kanneh donated football gears to Kamboi Eagles Football Club of Kenema district.
Hon. Alusine Kanneh is a grassroots politician and a philanthropist.
