Know the Newly Appointed Director General of Sierra Leone Correctional Service

Joseph John Senessie is the newly appointed Director General of the Sierra Leone Correctional Service. His appointment came on Friday 10th January 2025 after it was pronounced by the office of the president. Joseph John Senessie commonly known as JJ has over 20 years of public service experience, including years as Director at the Sierra Leone Correctional Service. Before his appointment he was the Assistant Director of Corrections.
The newly appointed Director General is a team player who has over the years build and maintain an excellent relationships with key stakeholders. This also includes acting as the central public facing figure in the organisation which encompasses media and public appearances as well as national public events.
Leading, managing and developing an effective, high-performing senior team and through them ensuring that the organisation has the people, systems, and processes to ensure day to day delivery of high-quality service.
JJ Provides inspirational leadership across the organisation that promotes a high performance and continuous improvement culture which champions and embraces diversity. Joseph John Senessie (ADC) possess a wealth of experience in addressing and meeting the staffing requirement of the institution. His expertise is underscored by a remarkable history of leveraging his exceptional interpersonal communication and organizational abilities. His proactive approaches has led to noticeable improvement in departmental efficiency and overall productivity. Renowned for his unweaving commitment as a team player, Joseph consistently delivers high quality work fueled by a strong determination and intrinsic motivation. His ability to collaborate and engage effectively with colleagues position him as a vital asset within the organization.
