After escaping from been killed by security forces and other loyalists of the ruling government, Sall Junior Abdulai would be thanking his stars and God for saving him that Friday 12th August. Abdulai who was coming from the provinces on that fateful day of Friday 12th August alongside other passengers inside a vehicle went out of luck as they were directly attacked by thugs and security forces accusing them and him in particular of being part of the demonstrators.
They descended on the vehicle forcefully and started beating up everybody with sticks and machetes without any hesitation.
Abdulai who was close to the window was spotted by one of the thugs as one of the demonstrators of the August 10-Wednesday 2022, and was descended upon and stabbed severally with bayonet. A lady closed to Abdulai by the name of Mary was shot by one of the security guards for wearing black cloth whiles the vehicle was openly set ablaze. Abdulai who was in a pool of blood by then was bundled into a standby pick-up van, and according to an eyewitness who asked for anonymity, said she heard them saying ‘shoot the dog and let dump his body inside the fire to rot in hell.’
However, few seconds later, the eyewitness furthered that she saw them in a veracious mood searching for Abdulai stating that ‘the idiot had escaped.’
The officers intensified their search that Friday 12th August for Abdulai by barging in and dragging young men and women outside their houses, beating them mercilessly in the presence of their siblings and then bundled into a standby trucks to an unknown location. Any suspected demonstrator has been declared wanted therefore we will definitely execute that task or ours, one Commissioner of Police exclaimed.
It is appalling to note that inside the pick-up truck those who put up resistance were shot inside and their remains deposited at the mortuary awaiting secret burial at night in an unknown site, whiles the lucky ones are whisked to the famous ‘Benghazi Room’ at the Operational Service Division –OSD of the Sierra Leone Police at Kinghaman Road and severely tortured before arraignment if possible.
It could be noted that the demonstration started peacefully turned into chaotic situation after the police releases teargas and sporadic shooting of live-bullets on the unarmed demonstrators along Congo Water and Upgun roundabout on that Wednesday 10th August.
Few days after the police published a notice of Sall Junior Abdulai and others as wanted with a ransom of fifty million Leones for any information leading to their arrests.
