An Emotional Moment At Sierra Leone Embassy in Tehran

The staff of the Sierra Leone Embassy in Tehran, Iran, bid an emotional farewell to the outgoing ambassador, His Excellency Alie Badara Kamara, as he concluded his six-year tenure as Head of Mission.
During his final meeting with the embassy staff, Ambassador Kamara expressed deep gratitude for the support and collaboration throughout his time in office.
“For the past six years, we have worked side by side, facing challenges and celebrating triumph moments together. This embassy has been more than just a workplace; it has been our shared home, a place where we have forged lasting friendships and accomplished remarkable things,” said Ambassador Kamara.
He said “together, we have strengthened ties between our country and other nations, and the foundation we have built will continue to support future diplomatic efforts.”
Ambassador Kamara was addressing the local staff, in Tehran adding that, “your insight and hard work have been invaluable. Your contributions have enriched our work and our lives.” The outgoing Ambassador, also extended his appreciation to fellow diplomats, highlighting the spirit of partnership and professionalism they fostered during his tenure.
“The spirit of collaboration we have developed has been a true highlight of my time here,” he remarked.
He encouraged the team to continue the important work, urging them to “keep pushing boundaries, building bridges, and representing the country with pride and integrity.”
In response, the Acting Head of Chancery, Saidu Kamara, expressed gratitude for the Ambassador’s contributions, saying, “We value the leadership and the impact Ambassador Alie Badara Kamara has demonstrated over the past six years.”
Mohamed Rabieu Basharr, the Financial Attaché, also thanked the Ambassador for strengthening not only the bilateral ties between Sierra Leone and Iran but also with other countries within the jurisdiction.
The embassy staff expressed appreciation and presented a gift to Ambassador Kamara as a token of gratitude, with every speaker stating that working with him had been an honor. Though saddened by his departure, everyone wished the Ambassador success in his future endeavors.
The presentation of the gift marked the climax of the farewell gathering, underscoring the respect and affection shared between the ambassador and his team.
