Gathering Faith and Community Boosts Deprived
Pupils with Learning Materials
The Gathering Faith and Community Church, Maryland in the United States of America on Wednesday 17th April, 2024 donated assorted school items to deprived kids at the Kissy Culvert Community, in the Eastern part of Freetown.
The items donated range from Used cloths, School bags, Books, Pens, Pencils, Crayons and Erasers.
Speaking on the rationale behind the donation, Sylvester L Campbell revealed that as a Missionary, he went around looking for those in dire need, especially the children that were going to receive the items, adding that one can see from their faces the joy of receiving those little gifts offered by the Gathering Faith and Community Church. For that reason he commended the church members alongside the Pastor and Wife, and all those who made the gesture a reality.
"All those kids that I see smiling is a blessing from God for those that took their time and resources in providing these little tokens for these poor children," he said.
He also revealed that they serve a variety of people including the PCMH Hospital, the Under 5 Clinic, the Old People Home and kids at the Unforgotten Fund at Kissy Culvert Community.
He ended by thanking the entire family of the late Madam Aminata Alarising who introduced him to this organization and giving them the chance to come and donate to this young folks.
Receiving the donated items, Madam Mariama Jimmy commended the the Gathering Faith and Community Church, Maryland in the United States of America for their strides in providing the much needed learning materials to the deprived children at Culvert Community, and assured that it will go a long way to help them in their school work. She prayed that the church will continue support them from time to time.
The event was climaxed with thanks and appreciation from the pupils who in turn promised to utilize the items for its desired purposes.
