LIBERALS BROTHERHOOD DONATES PRAYING ITEMS AND FOOD SUPPLIES TO FOURAH BAY COLLEGE MUSLIM JAMAAT

The purpose of fasting is to develop taqwa (the quality of righteousness), abstain from sinful deeds, control our worldly desires, and spiritually strengthen our soul, body, and mind.
Thus, as a way of support to students observing the holy month of Ramadan on campus, the Liberals Brotherhood has provided praying materials and food supplies to the FBC Muslim Jamaat.
Making the presentation on behalf of the Liberals Brotherhood, the Law Society Presidential Candidate Abdulrahman Mohamed Dukuray stated that this donation came at a time when students residing on campus are observing the holy month. “As a body that advocates for the welfare maximization of students on campus, we are pleased to fulfill zakat which is one of the pillars of Islam, he commented.”
Receiving the praying materials and assorted food stuffs, the Chief Imam of the Fourah Bay College Muslim Jamaat Abdul Razak appreciated the support from Liberals Brotherhood. “We are grateful for such generous contributions to the Jamaat especially at this particular time when over hundreds of students are observing the fast at the mosque” he said.
Abdul Razak added that Fourah Bay College Muslim Jamaat was in urgent need of these praying materials which could not come a better time than now when the country is observing fasting.
Imam Abdul Razak further noted that as a Jamaat, they received this gesture with good faith. The masjid he noted has become overcrowded and these items will help solve the many challenges students are faced with in order to observe their prayers.
The donation includes 50 praying mats, 50 praying kettle, 5 bags of rice, 4 gallons of oil, 50 bundles of pure water and assorted cooking maggies. The humanitarian support worths over thirteen million (13,000,000) old Leones.
The Liberal’s Brotherhood was established and thus built on a firm foundation of humanitarianism and students’ welfare maximization.
