Man Refuses To Accept his Father’s Legacy

Man Refuses To Accept his Father’s Legacy

One Aiah Mansa Teh, who was alleged to have fall in the hands of the pomasu’s  (stakeholders in Poro Bush) in the secret society at Kamaa Chiefdom in Kono has denied inheriting his father’s legacy.

Report states that Aiah Mansa as he is commonly called in the village was trapped following the demands from elders to inherit his father position in the Village.   It was learnt that the young man was called upon in one of the elders house and during the process some strong men were around who immediately braced him (Aiah) up on their shoulder and started shouting forcing women to rush in their various houses as tradition demands.

Aiah was forcefully taken to the society push but he did not wait for the ceremony to be completed who ended up running away from the secret society bush.

In Sierra Leone, despite the campaigns from the  western world on   civilization and other UN Conventions on Human Right and democracy, some part of the country continue the  practice of forceful  initiation which sometimes lead to death.

Similar development has also left most young men dead forcing others to run away from their home land.

These practices are not only done in Kono but also in other parts of the country including Kailahun district east of Sierra Leone.

The situation left Aiah Mansa Teh to flee from his home district and country to an unknown destination. Some stakeholders in the town who refuses to disclosed their names informed this reporter that it was good that the young man fled from the traditional bush otherwise he would have been a dead man.
