As Sierra Leone Police Declares August 10 Rioters Wanted

At a press conference held on Tuesday 16th August, 2022 at the Police Headquarters in Freetown, the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Brima Jah, told journalists that they have some 141 suspects in police custody and are looking for some others that have been declared wanted persons.
AIG Brima Jah said they have released a toll-free line for citizens to help them with information about whereabouts of those that are believed to have a hand in the August 10th Riot.
With this declaration, Osman Mansaray, a strong supporter of the Opposition APC Party and one among wanted person is said to have left the shores of Sierra Leone running away from the police.
Osman is said to be among ring leaders accused of organizing the August 10th 2022 riot that left Twenty Two civilians and six police officers dead and a number of others injured.
Osman is said to have managed to sneak out of the country after getting wind that his name was among suspects the police are looking for.
How he managed to escape the shores of Sierra Leone is still unknown but from information gathered, the young man was able to depart the shores of Sierra Leone through the help of some unknown persons.
His residence at Tengbeh Town in Freetown was deserted when the police raided his home but managed to arrest his wife who is now in police custody and helping with the investigation.
At the home of Osman, during the raid not even neighbours could tell how he left his home without been noticed.
The police continue to raid homes of people alleged to have a hand in the August 10th riot that disturb the peace of the country, especially the capital Freetown.
The past days since the riot/protest has witness series of police raid and the arrest of 24 juveniles: 18 young boys and 6 girls who are now in police custody and other persons who are now helping with investigation.
In this regard, police continue to call on community people to help in the search to identify those on the run so that police will bring them to book.
The whereabouts of Osman Mansaray is unknown and nobody could tell where he is. Not even members of his family could tell let alone friends. But the hunt for this young man continues.
