Police Issues Warrant for August 10 Demonstrator
The Sierra Leone Police -SLP have issued out a warrant of arrest dated Friday 12th August 2022 for one Foday Bangura of Kissy Shell Old Road in Freetown for allegedly participated in the 2022 August 10 riot in the country thereby disturbing the smooth flow of business and destroying government properties amounting to billions of Leones.
The suspect was said to be one of the ringleaders of the August 10th riot, violently plying the central business street without any lawful authority. The police issued the warrant for his immediate arrest or any information leading to Foday’s arrest with a ransom price of thirty million Leones.
Sources from the Police Communication Unit states that the Foday Bangura during that day was seen wearing black T-shirt with the inscription ‘Maada is a failed President’ on the street without any permission from the lawful authority, also was seen pelting stones on police personnel and vehicles.
It further revealed that a search was conducted for his arrest but to no avail. Foday is a criminal and must be prosecuted for violating the laws of the land and any other individual(s) that participated in that illegal and terroristic act of 10th August must be arrested and duly prosecuted, the Communication Unit of the Police holds in it release.
