Rodney Strasser Foundation in Partnership with Sick Pikin Donates Brand New Generator to PCMH

Sierra Leone's former International Footballer Rodney Strasser in partnership with the Sick Pikin project has donated a brand new 100 KVA Generator to the PCMH hospital in Freetown.
The donation was made alongside 325 liters of diesel fuel on Monday 13th May 2014 at the hospital compound.
This donation is coming after a famous post that went viral on frequent electricity outage in the hospital and the country as a whole.
Handing over the generator, the founder of the Rodney Strasser Foundation, Sierra Leone’s former international footballer, Rodney Strasser said he was delighted to make this gesture after he was approached by the Sick pikin project about the dire need for energy in the hospital.
He said his trade as a footballer paid him and the reason for always reaching out to people in need.
‘But also, I was born here at PCMH, so I'm oblige to help when there is need. I played lot of football games around the fourah field which is close to this facility and most times I passed by. After here I will be attending the FIFA Congress and these are some of the cases we will put before the congress as a way of helping my country, he said.
Rodney said there is every need to support the hospital and after learning about the situation he decided to help.
Dr. Jeredine George in her statement said several weeks back she made a post about the dire need for energy in the hospital that went viral.
“My aim was to touch the hearts of goodwill Sierra Leonean and that Rodney's heart has been touched. For us as clinicians this donation means a lot to us. Thank you Rodney Strasser for this donation,” she said.
Ishmael Alfred Charles the Lead Campaigner for Sick Pikin Project in his statement said after the post of Dr. Jeredine George he took upon himself to follow and escalate it.
“My post also went viral and Rodney picked it up and today a brand new generator is here. The sick pikin project is also donating 325 liters of fuel to aid the operation of the generator,” he said.
While receiving the Generator, Dr. Amadu Sesay said the 100 KVA generator is a big help to the hospital more so patients and hospital staff.
“Thank you Rodney and to you sick Pikin for this donation. What you have done today shows we have Sierra Leonean who have good heart to give. This donation will help our work greatly,” he said.
The donation by the Rodney Strasser foundation and the sick Pikin project is among the many donations and help they continue to provide across the country.
