Sheka Conteh On The Run…
After Escaping Prison During November 26 Jail Break
One of the alleged November 26th 2023 prison escapee “Sheka Conteh” has been declared wanted by Government of Sierra Leone following the attempted coup to overthrow the democratically elected government of President Julius Maada Bio. The government has also put some rewards for anyone who could help to locate the whereabouts of this escapee.
Reports stated that Sheka Conteh was one of the ring leaders of August 10th political riot and a strong members of the opposition APC Party. While in detention at the Maximum Pademba Road Prison, Sheka was able to escape after coup plotters of November 2023 stormed and free inmates at the Maximum Pademba Road Prisons.
Eyewitness testified that Sheka Conteh was one of the collaborators who aided November 26 coup plotters after escaping prison and has also escape to an unknown destination after the coup failed.
It was learnt that Sheka Conteh has now moved to an unknown destination after security forces stormed his residence including youth within the area. Report say the young man was living in Waterloo, outside the capital Freetown.
Family members who lost their beloved ones during the coup had vowed that since government cannot arrest and imprison people those alleged to have a hand in the November 26th failed Coup, they will have no alternative but to pursue these ring leaders, regardless of their whereabouts.
They have vowed that since their own people are no long alive they must ensure relatives of those who were involve taste the bitterness of losing love ones.
This unfortunate situation has created room for families of not only Sheka Conteh but families of perpetrators to go in hiding.
