Sierra Leone's First Lady Interacts with other First ladies in Beijing China

Sierra Leone's First Lady, H.E Fatima Maada Bio, continued to engage while in China to attend the China Africa summit alongside her husband, President Julius Maada Bio.
Madam Fatima Bio, during the China Africa summit, meet with other first ladies to discuss women in education.
Speaking during the engagement, Madam Fatima Maada Bio said "today, I had the honor of attending the “Conference about Women’s Education” in Beijing, China, alongside my fellow First Ladies from various African nations.
This significant event took place at the State Guest House, Fanghua Yuan, where we gathered not only to share memorable photographs but also to exchange transformative ideas regarding women’s education from diverse perspectives," she said
She continued that in addition to the serious discussions, we also enjoyed entertaining moments during a gala performance that showcased local artists and talented children. She said this interaction not only provided a joyful respite from the various deliberations but also highlighted the importance of cultural exchange in promoting understanding and solidarity among nations.
"As First Ladies, we understand that our roles extend beyond ceremonial duties; we are advocates for change, she noted.
Madam Fatima further noted that the conference reinforced our resolve to champion initiatives that prioritize women’s education as a means of achieving broader societal transformation.
"Together, we are united to ensure that future generations of women have access to quality education and the tools necessary for empowerment of young girls and women.
The China Africa summit presented an opportunity for Africa leaders to foster development in their various countries.
Prior to the conference, President Julius Maada Bio had already signed the MOU for the construction of the Lungi bridge schedule to kick off in the last quarter of 2024.
President Bio and the first lady will continue these engagements while preparing for the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) this month.
