Solomon Berewa’s Children Donate To Saint Paul School for the Blind

BY Mohamed Konneh

To mark his 3rd death anniversary on 5th March 2023, the children of the late Solomon Ekuma Berewa have donated food items and used clothing to the pupils of The Saint Paul School for the Blind in Bo. The school is among disadvantaged schools that was commissioned by the late Solomon Berewa in 2006 for the visually impaired in the Southern Province.

In her opening remarks, Mrs. Annie Lansana, daughter of the late Solo B encouraged the pupils to be well mannered and focus on their studies.

She promised the children that the family of the late former Vice President will continue to remember them in time of need as this is not the first time the children are visiting the Saint Paul School for the Blind.

Responding to the donation, the principal of the Saint Paul School for the Blind, thanked the Berewa family for their thoughts and for making such a donation.

He expressed that the donation was very timely as they seldom have enough for the kids.

The Principal said that the pupils are faced with numerous challenges, ranging from clothing, food items and more.

‘Most of the kids want to attend school but they don’t have recorders which they can use during classes. This is important because recorders aid learning of the blind. We are grateful for this gesture and we hope you will continue to remember us, the Principal noted.’

Making the vote of thanks, the head boy of the school, expressed their appreciation to the family on behalf of the school adding that the food items will support their up keep including the clothing. This is good and we are happy that you are here again this time to support us. Thank you so very much, he said.’

The Head Boy further reiterated that they will always remember the late man in their prayers.

The presentation of the items was done by Rev. Fr. Augustine Berewa.
