Andrew K Mansaray-The New Adebayo in Town
There is now a new Adebayo in town in the person of Assistant Director of the Sierra Leone Correctional Service Andrew K Mansaray. The assistant Director is believed to have taken over the original Adebayo and is said to be an expert in ‘Mamy Cuss’.
The recent outburst from Assistant Director of the Sierra Leone Correctional Service, Andrew K. Mansaray came as a deep resentment swells among the rank and file of Correctional Officers.
Andrew Mansaray replicated the Adebayo type style by raining abuses on his colleague, Superintendent Jalloh and at the same time making threatening remarks using all sort of words.
From a leak audio that is now in the possession of Standard Times Newspaper, the Assistant Director of the Sierra Leone Correctional Service was heard saying ‘Just wait for us to take over, we will deal with you people. You are a son of a bastard, but you people wait for us after we would have taken over, we will deal with all of you. Just wait small’.
These were the words of the Assistant Director raining abuses on a colleague who had wanted to pass the night in Makeni while traveling to Kabala for official duty.
This latest outburst with the use of abusive languages and threatening remarks has created an uneasy calm within the Sierra Leone Correctional Service. The Assistant Director has been reported to the management of the Correctional Service and that the latest saga is been looked into.
According to reports, Superintendent Jalloh was traveling to Kabala for an official duty but arrived late in Makeni and decided to stop over and travel the next day.
As courtesy demands, whenever a correctional officer is in another jurisdiction, he or she has to make it known to a superior officer in charge. Superintendent Jalloh on that faithful night simply went to the residential quarters of the Assistant Director a situation that ended up embarrassing the later.
What is still not clear is the reason behind the latest action by a senior Correctional officer using abusive language and threatening a colleague.
However, from information gathered reveals that there is a deep rooted political divide within the rank and file of the correctional Services that is tearing this important government agency apart.
This is an early warning sign according to a senior Correctional officer noting that if nothing is done disaster will struck the service in the not too distance future.
Information also reveals that this is not the first time the Assistant Director is making these threatening remarks and at the same time using abusive languages on other officers believed to be supporters of the current government.
When contacted on the latest allegations and outburst, Mr. Andrew Mansaray decline from making a statement noting that the case is now before the management and would not want to make a comment.
‘My brother I will not want to say much, because the issue is currently with the Correctional Service Administration,’ he said.
Investigation into this latest saga continues as Standard Times will follow this case to its logical conclusion. Standard Times Newspaper will publish a fully described edition of the audio in its next edition.
